Digital Citizenship

Why is it important to be a good digital citizen? One should strive to be a good citizen and this includes on the internet as well. To be courteous to others and to be honest in what we do. This includes any social networking or researching of sites and information found on the internet. Give credit to others when due. It is important to protect our children in this digital age and to teach them how to be a good digital citizen so as to protect them from their vulnerability. The value of a good digital reputation goes hand in hand with the reputation we hold in public as well as what we do in private. Follow the 'golden rule' on the internet and be sure to protect your privacy.  I like to build people up and be positive rather than tear down and destroy. Sometimes, it is hard not to take things personally, but it is best to refrain from sharing 'a piece of your mind' with someone and just move on.
